- Use TikTok as a discovery tool, not a checkout. People find you on TikTok. Then they Google your name, check your Instagram, visit your website, and buy there. The sale doesn’t happen in the app — but TikTok started the whole journey. I know a restaurant in Port Louis that posts their lunch specials every day around 11am. Real table bookings. Just from that.
- Run TikTok Ads with a direct link. If you have a website, you can run paid TikTok Ads that send people straight to your product pages. When Will TikTok Shop Come to Mauritius?
Nobody knows. TikTok expands country by country, and small island markets almost always come later in the rollout. My honest guess — and I want to be clear it is just a guess — is 2027 at the earliest. Maybe longer. Maybe never, depending on how the global regulatory picture develops.
But here’s what I’d tell you: don’t put your business on hold waiting for TikTok Shop Mauritius to arrive. Build your presence on the platforms that exist right now. Post consistently. Grow an audience. Set up a real sales process — whether that’s WhatsApp, Facebook Shop, or your own site. When TikTok Shop does land, switching over will take you a week. Starting from scratch will take six months.
